John Mazelin declined a ticket to Churchill Downs for our day at the races, saying he would use his "owners pass."
Little did we know, nor did he tell us, that one of his horses was running that day. Only after the race, when we had missed
the opportunity to bet on his steed, did he announce, as he ran down to the trophy presentation, that his horse had won.

It should be noted that one of our members had a formula for betting that proved successful. Those of us who stuck with his
betting scheme made a considerable profit on their investment. Not a get rich quick scheme, that usually results in losses,
but a method of slow steady investment that allowed our tickets to be cashed on 5 out of 6 races where a bet was placed using
this formula. This method must remain secret, but at next year's outing our handicapper has promised to return for another
day of profit taking.
